With about 90 days left in the year, it’s about time you gear up to make things count. Today, we will discuss all the magic of repurposing your email content so you can easily create content for your social media, blogs, and even videos.

Doing this lets you put your hard work and effort into more marketing material!

If you’re new to the More Than Social community, I’d like to give you a warm welcome! Listen to my podcast episode if you want a more in-depth insider on repurposing your email content!

Let’s jump into the details!

The Art Of Email Content Repurposing

Imagine this- you’re sitting in your room, all comfy, ready to create some of the best emails to invite people to your upcoming webinar.

You may not realize that these emails are hidden treasures of amazing content ideas just hiding in plain sight.

Repurposing Your Email Content For Social Media

People often look into repurposing YouTube videos, blogs, and podcast episodes. But truth be told, you can use your emails too.

To do this, you need to:

  • Pick out the juiciest bits of your email: Capture the excitement, personal stories, and the aha moments. These can be the gold mines of your social media content.
  • Give sneak peeks at your business and industry: Pull out tidbits of what’s cooking in your industry to educate your target audience. Make sure to bring out the element of fun, too!
  • Bring humour: Consider humour as a secret weapon to your content. It creates bonds with your target audiences that stick!
  • Use a hook, value, and call to action: Remember these are the 3 layers to a successful social media post.

Look for creative angles to pull these important elements out of your emails. At most, you can turn 1 email and break it down into 3-5 social media posts (or even more!)

Repurposing Your Email Content For Blogs

Aside from picking bits and pieces from your email to create social media content, you can also tweak this a bit to use them as blogs.

Like how you write emails focusing on stories, tips, and strategies on one specific topic- you can also reflect all these things in your repurposed blog.

Feel free to fill in the gaps where needed and even use your blog as an opportunity to let people achieve the action you’re looking for.

For instance, if you were doing a webinar, you wanted your audience to register for an event. You can link your blog to evergreen content to convert leads.

Repurposing Your Email Content For Videos

One last thing you can do with your email content is to repurpose it as videos.

Take your blog post and turn it into a video, pull out the key points, and use that on social media.

Instead of having someone read the story or tips you put into your emails, you can use this as a script for a video.

When the video is ready, you can post it to your Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and even Pinterest with your branding.

This proves how much you can do with the emails you’ve diligently worked on!

Tips For Effective Repurposing Of Your Email Content

Here are some tips you can apply to your business to help you repurpose your email content and squeeze out every drop of value on your hard work!

Tip 1: Break Your Content Down

It’s not all about repurposing your entire email in one go. It’s all about breaking it down into bite-sized pieces.

Example: That anecdote you shared about your travel mishap? Turn it into an Instagram story. The quick tip you slipped in at the end? Put it on threads.

By breaking down your emails, you create content ready to be shared across platforms.

Tip 2: Mix Up Your Content

Variety in your content is very important.

Do not limit what you’re creating to just one type of repurposing. You can use the same story across your blogs, videos, and even key points for your social media posts.

Your audience consumes content on different platforms. Thus, it’s best to cater to all tastes wherever your audience may be!

Tip 3: Create Evergreen Content

For most times, content does not have an expiration date. There are timeless pieces of advice and stories that your audience can benefit from even months down the line.

Use these pieces of gems to create evergreen blog posts, videos, social media posts, and even lead magnets.

In that way, your content remains relevant and valuable long after it first reaches your audience.

Tip 4: Use A Teaser Strategy

Always put out an element of curiosity in your repurposed content.

Feel free to tease your audience with snippets and insights, then direct them back to the original emails. You can also encourage your audience to join your email lists and other offers.

This drives engagement and helps you establish a cohesive message that connects all your platforms.

Tip 5: Focus on Purpose

Every piece of content you release should have a purpose.

Whether it’s to educate, entertain, or inspire, always ask yourself what value your content can bring to your audience.

If it aligns with the needs and interests of your audience, then you’re on the right track!

At the end of the day…

Always remember that repurposing your emails isn’t just about copy-pasting. It’s about keeping your tone and content consistent across all platforms you are present in.

Your emails are your baseline. And now, it’s time to use it across the board.

Showing up in multiple places is a great way to simplify your marketing strategy. Using your email content as your baseline makes releasing valuable insights across the board easy.
