Happy new year, and welcome to the year where I know you’ll hit those big goals you’ve set for yourself.
Where we say thank you for all that we learned in 2022.
And say hello to implementing some new and improved strategies for your business.
Right now, I want to walk you through what is ahead of us in 2023.
I’ve broken it down into five marketing trends for you to follow to make it easy.
I’m going to get right to the point with this one because I know we all are eager to get moving.
So whether you’re just starting or you’ve been in business for a while…
… just know that these tips will help you stay ahead of your competition and keep ahead of the curve.
So, first up, let’s talk about technology.
Marketing Trend #1: Automated Technology
You know how much I love automation.
Now when I’m talking about automation, I’m not talking about eliminating your personal touch and becoming a robot.
I’m talking about automating tedious tasks that you do over and over again in your business that you don’t necessarily need to put your time or energy into.
When you learn how to automate certain aspects within your business and use it to your advantage, you can truly focus on other parts of your business that NEED your time and attention.
My biggest tip for adding automation to your business is to start paying attention to the systems or processes you already have set up within your business…
… and then look at what you can change or automate.
To give you some ideas, some of the tedious tasks I’ve automated are my client onboarding sequence, sending invoices and collecting payments, following up with prospects, and even my lead generation and marketing.
Marketing Trend #2: Advanced Customer Experience
Next is looking at the overall customer experience you provide to your clients and prospects.
People want information quickly and at the tips of their fingers.
People are so busy that they don’t have the patience or want to wait for answers or even search for answers anymore.
The key is to utilize the technology sitting in front of us to provide quick and fast service for our clients…
… but to allow them to have some flexibility as well.
So think about how you can streamline some processes in your business to adapt to that level of service.
Marketing Trend #3: Social Media SEO
The third one I want to point out is SEO.
SEO is search engine optimization.
Or, in simple terms, it’s the keywords people use while using the internet to search for answers.
For example, if you are looking for a new recipe for your dinner party, and you know everyone is on the Keto diet…
You’d type “Easy Keto Recipes” or something along those lines, right?
When you include that phrase online in your content, you are more likely to show up in their results when they search for that.
Consider what people search for online, and include that multiple times in your text.
Marketing Trend #4: Video Content
Now, I don’t just mean any type of video content.
I’m talking about short and to-the-point content.
So if you haven’t jumped on the trend with reels, youtube shorts or TikTok videos – now is your time.
I’m talking about 5-10 second videos on social media. That includes Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube.
Remember, we are all busy.
We like to move at lightning speed…
The likelihood of someone sitting there and watching a long video is slim.
You’ll see people drop off quickly.
Even with podcast episodes, you see this trend; people want quick, consumable content.
People want you to get to the point. They want to get their information, be entertained, and move on.
So, when I ask you to shoot a video, I’m not saying get a full production company and make an hour-long video.
I’m saying jump on for 10 seconds, say what you’ve got to say and get off.
Just make it valuable!
Marketing Trend #5: Messenger Connection
As entrepreneurs, we need to maintain that personal connection, and social media messaging apps are a great way to do that.
Did you see that you can now create a message group with every Facebook group you have?
So, for the Spotlight Theory Facebook group, I can now put everyone automatically into a Facebook message and talk to everyone through messenger.
It seems more personal than just posting in the Facebook group, right?
Plus, it’s something that people are already using.
I recommend setting up your systems and processes using the technology before you this year.
Not so that we can save time but so we can stay connected to our clients.
I connect technology and harmony in this week’s podcast episode and elaborate on the five trends.
