4 Steps to Help You Crush Your Goals This Year

The great thing about goals is that whether they are small goals or big ones — you can usually use the same methods to achieve them.

It doesn’t matter whether your goal is to get a pet or buy a car.

… if you apply specific methods to it, you’ll crush it.

I follow a very specific process to make sure I hit all my goals.

And that’s what I want to share with you today.

I’ll be walking you through my goal-setting process to show you exactly how I make sure I not only crush my goals but also set reasonable goals for myself.

Step # 1: Brain Dump

When I’m setting my goals, I write down everything I can think of.

Whether it’s a personal goal, a business goal, a fitness goal, it doesn’t matter.

That’s why I call this session the brain dump.

I’m dumping all the goals I have for myself on paper.

It doesn’t matter how small the goal is or how big it is; I’m writing it down.

After writing all of them down, I take a step back and look at all I’ve written.

Then I start to think about my big picture.

Where do I want to be in a year?

What do I want to see when I see myself in a year?

And which of the goals I’ve written down will allow me to become that person I want to be in a year?

That’s when I start to do the work of picking the goals that are the most important to how I want myself to look in a year.

Most times, when I do this, I still have so many goals left on the paper.

I don’t make more than five goals a year.

I make sure these goals are realistic and important to me and my entire big picture.

Once I’m done setting these goals, it’s time for me to move on to the next phase of my plan.

Step # 2: Set A Game Plan

Now that you already know your goals, it’s time to decide how to crush them.

One mistake that many people make when setting goals is that they set them and have no game plan.

And I don’t just mean a plan — I mean a concrete one.

It has to be detailed, and you’ve got to write it down.

If you want to increase your followers on social media, you could simply Google how to do that.

And then, make a checklist of things you need to do to increase that follower count.

And as soon as you get started on the checklist, you start checking the things you’ve done.

Now, what if your goal is super big? And one that’s going to take all year?

You’ve got to break that goal down into small achievable goals or checklists to make it easier for you to crush your goals.

These smaller achievable goals must be within your sphere of influence.

They should be things that you can do.

Once you get started on these checklists and can conquer them one by one, you’ll find yourself approaching that final goal in no time.

Step #3: Determine Priority

While it’s great to have all these goals…

… working on all of them at once might make you feel productive for a while, but it will eventually make you feel overwhelmed.

That’s why it’s crucial to determine what goals you will prioritize during the year.

What goal do you want to achieve first?

Which ones do you want to go to second? And so on and so on.

Even if one of your goals is to form a habit, like maybe going to the gym every day, make sure you work on making that an actual habit before you jump on another goal.

Step #4: Focus On One Task

Yes, you read that right, and I will break it down for you in this week’s video. I’m excited to see you there! And remember: you got this!
