Best Strategies to Boost Engagement

I get we want to grow and continue to grow – as entrepreneurs, that’s what we do.

So when I ask you why you spend so much time on social media as an entrepreneur…

It’s probably not because you enjoy it, because you love talking about yourself and your business…

… it’s because you want to grow.

This is why this episode is all about strategies that will make you stand out on social media – so you can keep on growing and growing fast.

Are you ready?

Let’s dive into it!

Post Consistently

What’s the number one way to get on the good side of the all-mighty social media algorithm?

Post consistently.

Usually, at this point, I get asked, “how often do I actually post.” So let me answer that real quick.

According to studies, the sweet spot is posting 1-2 posts a day.

This way, your feed always stays fresh and relevant, and you have more opportunities to attract eyeballs to your content.

For me, I post once a day.

Know Whom You’re Talking To

As a business owner who runs your own social media account, your job is to know two things, backward and forwards.

Those two things are who your posts are meant for and what those people like.

If you don’t know who they are and what they like, you won’t know what kind of posts will attract them…

… and you’ll either end up low engagement on your posts, or you’ll be engaging with the wrong people who won’t turn into clients or customers eventually.

Be Social

Right now, if you are not actively social with your audience, you are giving them NO reason to follow you or search for you.

And that’s what makes you stand apart from the huge brands – human connection.

So how do you actually do that? How can you be social in a virtual world?

Well… like people’s posts, comment on them, save posts, send DM, do the polls in people’s stories. Hang out – and hang out with the right people

And when you start doing that, it will come back around, and you’ll begin to get the same interaction on your posts.

Comment On Other People’s Accounts

When the platforms notice you are engaging and having a conversation, they will measure your interaction.

And start showing those posts and comments to more people.

And the more people who see your content or comments, the higher the chance your account will get noticed too.

The Right Hashtags

Instead of using generic hashtags, I’d suggest that you use a mix of trending and industry-specific hashtags that you think best connects with your dream client.

And how do you know what hashtags work best?

Easy.

You draw up a list of hashtags that you think might work and then research each one.

Look at the sort of content each tag contains, and look at the numbers the posts that trend beneath them do.

Are the numbers mediocre, or are they fantastic?

Is that the sort of content you’d like to push out?

My suggestion is to start with 11 hashtags relevant to your post and your audience. Post using that bundle & review the results under your insights.

The next post, add in another one or two and test.

The Right Time

Knowing what time to post for the highest engagement rate can be tricky, but it’s essential to up your social media game. I talk about it in-depth in this week’s episode, so head on over there for all the information!
