Take The Headache Out of Instagram Reels

Instagram reels

Whenever I dive into a new topic with y’all, I like to talk about WHY I think the topic is so important. There’s no kind of motivation like knowing how something is going to benefit your business.

This week we’re talking all about Instagram Reels, and I am going to focus on WHY you should be investing your time and energy into them.

Next week, we’re going to get into how to create them.

And then, the following week, I’m going to give you all the reel ideas that you need!

Yes, this month, you could say, is All About Reels.

So let’s get started!

Into The Unknown

Social media is the entrepreneur’s best tool for getting seen by potential clients.

And if you’ve been keeping up with these episodes, you probably already know that video content is one of the most important parts of that journey.

Sadly, many entrepreneurs either don’t care for making videos, or they just don’t have the confidence to show up on video.

Surprise: I used to be someone like that!

We ALL start not knowing what we are doing.

It takes practice, commitment, and just doing it until you get it right. Then you won’t be nervous anymore.

However, I don’t want you to make videos just for the sake of making videos…

That’s not worth your time but…

I am here to say that Instagram Reels is definitely worth your time!

What Are These Things?

If you aren’t familiar with reels, let’s catch you up quick:

Instagram calls Reels a new way to create and discover short, entertaining videos.

And that pretty much explains what Reels are.

Right now, Reels can be found easily on the explore page.

Once you tap on the Reels icon, you’ll go down what I like to call a scroll hole.

All you need is to keep scrolling to get videos that Instagram thinks you’ll like.

Seriously, the alogrithim is a pretty interesting thing.

Have you ever gone on your partner’s Instagram and noticed what reels pop up on their page vs yours?

That’s the power of customization with social media, and I love it.

Why Instagram Reels Is Great For Business

The first thing you need to know is that Instagram is an excellent sales and marketing tool.

It’s not just for users who scroll videos and look at pictures.

It’s a HUGE ecosystem that offers us entrepreneurs the ability to grow our businesses while we sleep.

So if Instagram is an excellent platform for marketing, and Instagram Reels is one of the easiest ways to reach new audiences, doesn’t that mean business owners should make more Reels?

Ya, it does.

But if this doesn’t convince you, I’ve got a few more reasons why you should fix your reels game.

Get On The Explore Page

One of the hardest things to do on Instagram is to get on the explore page.

Content on the explore page usually gets higher visibility.

But the only reason why they get on that page in the first place is that they are performing very well with their warm audience.

Of course, like any other content on Instagram, Reels can also get on the explore page.

If your Reels have high initial likes, views, shares, and comments, they will quickly get on the explore page.

And you know what that means…

When you get more engagement, you’ll get seen by more people, and the more people that see you, the more visible you are.

Built-In Sales Funnel

The amazing thing about Reels is that if you do them properly, you can even funnel viewers of the video directly to your website to sign up or make a purchase.

Pretty cool, right?

Think about that for a sec…

You create a 15-second video, and you can get people to purchase your product or services…

And the more people that see it – for free, by the way- the more purchases you’ll likely get.

Which, in my opinion, for free marketing – that’s incredible.

So, how do you get more engagement on your reels so that you are more likely to hit that explorer page?

The Algorithm Hacker

The great thing about Reels is that it’s a natural algorithm hacker.

Unlike other Instagram content, people don’t have to follow you to see your Reels.

Instagram will choose to show it to people as they scroll through reels.

And if it feels engaging enough, they will show it to even more people.

What’s Next?

One of the biggest complaints I hear about reels is that they take time.

But really, there’s not much of a difference between a reel and a photo.

Especially if you get to the point where you know exactly what you are putting out and stop trying to perfect it.

And even better, I’m going to show you how to save time making your reels – but for that, you are going to have to go watch this week’s episode.
