How to Generate Higher Quality Leads Online

If I could tell you the number one comment I’ve heard from entrepreneurs over the last 7 years, it’s that Facebook ads don’t work. They can’t help you to generate quality leads online.

I have a specific formula that I follow whenever I’m looking to generate the best online leads – but before I share that, let’s look at the WRONG way of doing it.

The Wrong Types Of Ads

When you hit the “promote” button on Facebook, you will choose between profile views, link clicks or messages.

Which again, if this is your goal – great. But if you are looking for lead generation, this is not where you want to put your focus.

Before we get into lead generation, let me break down those three types of ads available when clicking boost to help you understand that side of it first.

Engagement Ad

The first option for these sponsored posts is an engagement ad. That’s it. These posts are optimized for more people to see them and engage with them.

Engagement in terms of like, comment, save and share.

Now let me ask you… do you really care about that?

I mean, it’s great to have a thousand likes and maybe a billion comments, but it’s very irrelevant to my business if those numbers aren’t reflecting on my bottom line.

And I want to think that’s the same for you as well. I mean, it’s great to go viral, but it’s not so great to go viral if you aren’t hitting your sales goals.

Link Clicks

Another option for pressing the boost ad is link clicks, which is a traffic ad.

With a traffic ad, you ask Facebook or Instagram to put the post in front of people who are most likely to click the link.

However, someone clicking a link doesn’t mean they will actually land on your website and become a lead or purchase something.

People can click all day long, but again, it won’t have a huge impact on your bottom line.

Messenger Ad

And the third one is messages, aka a messenger ad. This is where they are getting people to click the button and land in your instant message.

This is good to open a conversation but then requires a lot of work to respond manually, build that relationship and hopefully turn them into a prospect for your business.

Keep in mind; that I’m not saying these other ads are bad; it’s just the wrong type of ads if you are trying to generate leads for your business.

The main issue with these ads from a lead generation aspect is that they will only keep the audience ON social media.

More times than not, keeping those prospects on social media will not bring in the results you are looking for…

… instead, you want to get them OFF of social media and onto that next stage of your business.

Facebook Ads Manager

To do this, you actually want to run ads on the back end of Facebook through Ads Manager.

This is where you can create an ad, target the people who you want to see the ad, and even determine if you want it on Facebook or Instagram.

This is also where you can choose the type of ad that will inspire the call to action you are looking for, like booking an appointment or making a purchase.

You won’t just be shooting darts at the wall and hoping it sticks somewhere.

How To Generate High, Quality Leads

So how do you actually generate high-quality leads online, then?

You Collect their contact information.

You Connect with them to build a relationship.

And then you Convert them into clients.
